Our Story
How it all began...
It all started at the 3-day course on “Additive Manufacturing” otherwise commonly known as “3D-Printing”. That was the beginning of the end. I, the founder, was hooked on the concept, absolutely mind blown. At the end of 2018, I had the privilege to work for 2 months at the Ford factory in Pretoria as part of my engineering studies prerequisites. Took the money I had made and bought two FDM (Fused deposition Model) 3D printers. From the start, it was labeled as a “Business” but in reality, it was a hobby that just paid for itself. The initial platform was created to just learn more about the field of additive manufacturing as well as creating other people’s ideas. Essentially teaching myself to become a better designer.
Being an entrepreneur from a young age, I decided during the 2020 pandemic to turn my self-paying hobby into a legitimate full-time business. Whilst finishing off my engineering degree. Recruiting one of my trusted friends, Ruwaan Botha, that shares the same passion for design as I do. Together we are the one-two punch combo to solve your problem.
I believe with my whole heart this is only the beginning.

Erick Fourie
Founder
Graduated as a mechanical engineer at the North-West University of Potchefstroom in 2020. Passionate about my field of study which flows through my veins. However, entrepreneurship is the very core of who I am. From selling toys in primary school, walking between businesses selling biltong to making muffins and selling them whilst in high school. I absolutely love the idea of business. Now I have the privilege of combining business with engineering.
I am also a part-time musician, the drummer for “Van Reg & Rede”. Being a drummer for a band is one of my oldest childhood dreams. What a blessing it is to be able to part take in it. Our Music is available on all streaming platforms as well as music videos on YouTube.
One thing is for sure, meetings will always include good coffee. I’m a total coffee fanatic, have even roasted my own coffee beans. Now, that was just next-level coffee. If you want to have a meeting just to drink a coffee, I’ll find an opening in my schedule.
I love learning new things every day and that’s what I love about Convenience Created. It’s an environment where I get to learn new things every single day to ensure we are creating better and better products.
Another main reason for Convenience Created is to allow me to be flexible on time. Being a musician requires you to be. I don’t however, mind working till late at night or getting up early in the morning to get things done.

Throughout my whole life, I have been creating and building because it is one of my biggest passions. I started studying Mechanical Engineering in 2017 at the University of North-West, aiding my passion for learning.
In the modern world, it is a challenge to plan one’s future and even harder to predict. The way I view the world is from a designing and manufacturing perspective. It helps me realize that the engineering world is constantly asking for solutions to current problems and improving on what has been perfected.
Being positive and having a thirst for adventure when the moment presents itself, is my key to a balanced life. In my free time, I love to make music and spend quality time with people I love. It is a big aspiration of mine to play in a touring band, making music, and seeing the world. Building on that dream I have played in numerous bands throughout my university life. Being able to share my passion has helped me through tough times and highlighted the good moments as well.
